PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. 'ALBUM' LP Black Vinyl Reissue

Label: Elektra/WEA
RELEASE Date: 09/18/2026
VARIANT: 180g Black Vinyl LP

John Lydon didn't cut this one with his touring band. Instead, the Public Image Ltd frontman — Johnny Rotten to Sex Pistols fans — pulled together a heavyweight cast: guitarist Steve Vai, keyboardist Ryuichi Sakamoto, drummer Ginger Baker and bassist Bill Laswell, who co-produced as well. "I make records for myself. I want them to be completely precise," Lydon said of the 1986 set, and it still burns despite all that session firepower. "FFF" opens things up, "Home" and "Rise" sit further in, and that last one turned into one of PiL's biggest singles. The record even landed in the U.K. Top 20, which makes it a rare easy way into one of the 1980s' hardest bands. This is the all analog reissue on 1LP, part of the Rhino Reserve series.
