Gallows — Frank Carter, Laurent Barnard, Stuart Gili-Ross, Steph Carter and Lee Barratt — followed their explosive debut Orchestra Of Wolves with Grey Britain, out 2nd May 2009. Many call it one of the great British heavy records of the century. It's a relentlessly bleak concept album, a snapshot of a country falling apart: fractured, broke and politically rotten.
Garth "GGGarth" Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Biffy Clyro) produced, and Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Slayer) mixed. Vicious hardcore, thrash and dark symphonic weight all fuse together across the record. The 2026 remaster brings new clarity to that wall of sound.
