XORSIST At the SOMBER Steps to SERENITY LP, Galaxy Orange/Black Vinyl

Stockholm gave the world Entombed, Dismember and Unleashed, and XORSIST come from that same hallowed city. October brings their sophomore album, At the Somber Steps of Serenity, out through Prosthetic Records.

After the self-released debut Deadly Possession in 2022, XORSIST drew the attention of the Los Angeles label with an old school approach to Sweden's death metal legacy. Gustav Ryderfelt (vocals and guitar) founded the band, later completing the line-up with Birk Castenmalm (vocals and bass) and Alphonse Bouquelon (drums); XORSIST root their core sound in deep reverence for the genre's roots and a spirited push forward for the raw, uncompromising Stockholm tone.

Keen to keep working with the legendary Sunlight Studios (Dismember, At The Gates, Entombed, Grave and more), XORSIST once again kept Tomas Skogsberg on co-production with Iñaki Marconi (Soen, Sepultura, Carcass). XORSIST treat tradition as more than homage — it's a graceful carrying of the genre's torch. The Swedish underground has taken to them, old fans and new alike, and this record keeps that old school Stockholm fire burning. Pressed on Galaxy Orange/Black vinyl.
