GILT ‘I SAW MYSELF IN THE BLACK SCREEN’ LP (Multi-color Splatter Vinyl)

LABEL: Smartpunk
RELEASE DATE: 09/11/2026
VARIANT: Multi-color Splatter Vinyl LP

I Saw Myself In The Black Screen is the soundtrack to a mental breakdown. The record is a narrative black hole, with it's middle track DRYWALL being the "real" life of a child surrounded by domestic violence, insulating themselves in all directions with media escapism, comprising all the songs before and after. To that end, the album puts 00's alt-rock nostalgia from Limp Bizkit to Alexisonfire into a blender with titular and lyrical references to anime, film, television, video games, and psychedelic novels. GILT plays with the "nu emocore" branding, flipping like channels between hooky riffs, grating screams, and walls of sound. With neither vocalist dedicated as the "harsh" or "clean" singer the lyrics and moods shift across each song from blunt and bloody revenge fantasies, to apologizing for your own existence, to having a god complex about ending your own life.
