Following the crossover success of their Bloody Kisses, October Rust found Type O leaning even further into the romantically-brooding side of their gothic-metal sound. The 1996 effort is full of heavy ballads driven by purple waves of distortion and the arousing vocal performances of baritone belter-cum-bassist Peter Steele. October Rust remains a senses-flooding smorgasbord of lustful bangers (“Be My Druidess”), lipstick-and-wine-stained bedroom professions (“Love You to Death”) and hot-and-bothered foreplay (“Wolf Moon”). An erotically-charged masterpiece now ready to be spun on limited edition, picture disc vinyl.
