VARIANT: Red & Green "Freddy's Sweater" Vinyl 2LP
2003’s Freddy vs. Jason put two of Eighties horror’s biggest, meanest ghouls on one screen, and that team-up was a landmark. Pairing those on-screen predators with a murder’s row of nu-metal, hardcore, industrial and death-metal bands made a strange kind of sense. Exclusive songs, rarities and hits arrive from Slipknot, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Sepultura, Lamb of God, Type O Negative and plenty more, so the soundtrack plays like a monstrous melee of early Aughts aggression.
The first vinyl pressing is a double LP, and it tips its hat to a certain sharp-fingered protagonist — red and green “Freddy’s Sweater” wax inside a gatefold jacket. Happy Halloween!
