Six songs about getting through the worst of it and standing back up. SKILLET put heavy guitars behind that idea and stacked stadium-sized hooks on top as a reminder not to quit.
John Cooper sings and plays bass. Korey Cooper covers guitar and keys and handles production, Jen Ledger is behind the drums and adds vocals, and Seth Morrison takes lead guitar. Album sales sit just shy of 22 million, monthly Spotify listeners average 12 million, and the quartet's songs have landed in dozens of sports, film and TV placements. Even so, SKILLET went heavier and punched harder on their 2026 independent EP, After The Storm.
"This EP is special to me," John says. "It reignites what SKILLET was always meant to be, which is music that helps lift people out of dark times. I wrote these songs because I needed to be lifted out of my darkness." Rock music, he adds, was always how he faced the next day without feeling so alone, and this EP may mean a little more, since the band hadn't dealt with such dark issues in a long time.
