SISTERS OF MERCY 'FLOODLAND' LP (Black Ice Galaxy Vinyl)

LABEL: Elektra / WEA
RELEASE DATE: 10/18/2024
VARIANT: Black Ice Galaxy Vinyl LP

A goth world essential and the second chapter of Sisters of Mercy’s glorious career, 1987’s Floodland almost began as a solo album from bandleader/frontman Andrew Eldritch. Many Sisters members bounced following debut album First, Last and Always — in turn forming the Mission — leaving Eldritch and trusted drum machine collaborator Doktor Avalanche to briefly ponder the void as the Sisterhood. The singer revived Sisters of Mercy with former Gun Club bassist Patricia Morrison and started slinging out sleek, sexy club anthems like “Lucretia My Reflection.” Filled with hot metal, methedrine and melancholy, Floodland is back on wax as this “Black Ice Galaxy” color vinyl pressing.
