P.M. Dawn's second album carries a mouthful of a title — “The Bliss Album…? (Vibrations of Love and Anger and the Ponderance of Life and Existence)” — and it earned its place among the finest sounds of the early 90s hip hop era. Atrell and Jarrett Cordes, the Cordell brothers, handled the songwriting and the studio work on this 1993 masterwork.
Two big singles drove it: “I’d Die Without You”, also heard in the film “Boomerang”, and “Looking Through Patient Eyes”, the duet with Cathy Dennis of D Mob. Fans and critics both took to the record.
Rap, hip hop and psychedelic flavorings run through the tracklist. Listen for the duo's stunning tribute to The Beatles on “Norwegian Wood”, plus originals like “When Midnight Sighs”, “When It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” and “Plastic.”
Several years have passed since this album was last on vinyl. Friday Music is bringing the classic P.M. Dawn masterwork back, pressed on Cobalt Blue Vinyl for the first time.
Production comes from P.M. Dawn, with mastering by Joe Reagoso (P.M. Dawn/David Bowie) from the Melody Catalog Tapes. The package arrives in a gatefold cover.
