Pressed as a tribute to singer-songwriter Melanie Safka (1947-2024), this Goldmine 7-inch lands around Woodstock's anniversary. It's a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl record of Melanie songs: the turquoise pressing runs at 33 rpm and stops at 100 copies. Two tracks sit on it — "Close to It All" and "Momma Momma" — taken from her digital-only replaying of the Woodstock setlist in 1969.
Calling it Songs I Sang at Woodstock, the release marks the first time this performance of these songs has been pressed on 7-inch vinyl. "Close to It All" takes the A-Side, "Momma Momma" the B-Side; they were the first two songs of her Woodstock set, performed here on acoustic guitar later in her life, recorded live in a studio and remastered in 2023 for a digital-only setlist shared with fans and followers. What you hold is a one-time vinyl document of the opening of that recreated Woodstock 1969 setlist.
