Dopamine Chamber is the fifth Fontaines D.C. studio album, out October 16, 2026 on XL Recordings. James Ford produced it. It follows 2024’s Romance, the record that turned the Dublin five-piece from critical favourites into one of the biggest bands in the world.
That last one debuted at No. 2 in in the UK and has since gone platinum there. It also gave the band their first entry on the Billboard 200. Two GRAMMY nominations followed (Best Rock Album, plus Best Alternative Music Performance for “Starburster”), and International Group of the Year at the 2025 BRIT Awards — their second BRIT win. Add the Album Award at the 2024 Rolling Stone UK Awards, Ireland’s Choice Music Prize, and a Mercury Prize shortlist.
Lead single “Marianne” came with a video directed by Dave Meyers, the man behind Kendrick’s “HUMBLE” and Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE”. Dopamine Chamber drifts in like a constellation behind undulating sighs of smog: potent balladry, anthemic melodies glinting through the murk. Against a world tipping toward collapse, it asks how pleasure mutates amid peril, and what chasing it says about us. Guitars from the early records take a back seat here. What’s left is colder, stranger, more synthetic.
The title treats the album as a room you walk into. “The album itself is a dopamine chamber,” Chatten says. “You step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you.”
