Embers to Ashes is Everlast's eighth album, and his first in eight years. Raw and reflective, it traces a life shaped by hard-won lessons, sudden turns, triumphs and losses alike. Yelawolf produced it, Chris Lord-Alge mixed it, and the sessions in Nashville drew contributions from songwriter David Ray (Jelly Roll, Teddy Swims). On this 2026 release he sounds as unflinching and emotionally direct as he ever has.
You probably know the name already. He cut one of the biggest breakout hip-hop hits in history, 1992's "Jump Around" with House of Pain, and wrote the empathy anthem "What It's Like" from the triple-Platinum Whitey Ford Sings the Blues. Then there are the GRAMMY nominations and the win with Santana. None of that quite explains it, though. What matters is how he redrew rap's relationship with blues and rock, and the humanity he keeps bringing to that sound. More than three decades in, he has documented life as he lived it, from humbling highs to devastating lows. Embers to Ashes cuts deeper than any of it.
