Dave MATTHEWS Band 'BEFORE These CROWDED STREETS' 25th Anniversary 2LP

LABEL: SONY LEGACY
RELEASE DATE: 11/03/2023
VARIANT: Black Vinyl 2LP

Album number three from Dave Matthews Band, out in spring of 1998, and it carried real weight: Before These Crowded Streets ended the Titanic soundtrack's 16-week run at the top of the Billboard 200, went triple-platinum, and started a streak of six No. 1 albums in a row.

The LA Times praised the record for placing an even higher premium on musical proficiency, pointing to Rapunzel and The Stone, where polyrhythms and serpentine riffs dart around Matthews' clenched vocals. Over two decades on, the band still plays most of these songs in their nightly sets.

This 25th anniversary edition is a standard black 2LP with an exclusive new booklet of rare photos. Lacquers were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
