AMON AMARTH 'THE ALLFATHER AWAKENS' CD Album

LABEL: Metal Blade Records
RELEASE DATE: 10/02/2026
VARIANT: CD

Ten songs make up The Allfather Awakens, and Amon Amarth shaped it as a definitive masterwork built on the lineup’s memorable riffs and unflinching aural power. “Gjallarhorn” opens things with an epic tale, then comes “Eight Legs of Thunder,” a heroic battlefield story. “Upphaf” is a translated stanza from the prophetic poem Völuspá and marks the band’s first-ever acoustic offering. This is the 13th album from the Swedish melodic death metallers since 1998’s Once Sent from the Golden Hall, and they took a new songwriting approach for it.

Recording happened at producer Jacob Hansen’s studio in Denmark across two sessions, months apart. Instead of waiting until they were off the road, Amon Amarth began writing songs while touring. The first session was Spring 2025; the final recording was completed in March 2026.
