Six albums in, Airbourne still aren't interested in restraint. Their self-titled record is the loudest argument yet, and the title says it plainly. "This record distils everything we stand for into one album," Ryan explains. "It's the best album that we could possibly make." The band's name has long meant bombastic, beer-soaked, dangerous, sexy rock'n'roll, and that's what you get here.
Brian Howes, who produced 2013's Black Dog Barking, came back to produce, with engineer Mike Fraser returning from 2016's Breakin' Outta Hell and 2010's No Guts. No Glory. Sessions took place at Music Farm Studio in "the jungle" outside Byron Bay. That complex has the original Neve console from Alberts Studios, where AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels cut landmark early albums.
Zakk Cervini (BMTH, Architects) handled the mix, keeping the drums sounding like canons and the guitars cutting like buzzsaws. Gold vinyl pressing.
