A grindcore classic that introduced Napalm Death to the world, Scum actually features two versions of the U.K. group — both lineups are anchored by snare-blasting drum god and band founder Mick Harris, and they feature future members of Godflesh and Cathedral. No matter the makeup, Scum is the frenzied sound of a hungry act working through a revolutionarily noisy racket. The 28-song album is stuffed with a series of blasted-and-d-beated heaters, arguably none more iconic than their 3-second anti-hit, “You Suffer.” Preserved on “Black and White Marble” vinyl for its 40th anniversary, and repressed with glowing yellow alternate artwork.
