Turku, Finland gives us SVARTA HAVET, and their second full-length lands May 9 through Prosthetic Records — the band's first release for the label. The record is called Månen ska lysa din väg, and the pressing here comes on blood red vinyl.
Call them dyster, gloomy post-hardcore if you like. That's how they describe themselves. Across the album the five-piece turns a critical eye on Western colonialism, on capital greed, and on convenience bought at the price of sustainability. It plays as a rallying cry, though the light in this world never drops out of view.
The band formed in 2018, and SVARTA HAVET translates as black sea.
