Shangri-LA-DEE-DA shows off Stone Temple Pilots' knack for folding a vast array of musical influences into a wholly original, genre bending album. Recorded in a Malibu Beach House, this fifth studio record from the classic STP lineup first came out in 2001. It was slated as a double album, then re-imagined as a 1-LP, and its 13 tracks travel from Hollywood excess to the more mundane awe of new fatherhood.
